China Just Crushed Boeing’s Dreams—No One Saw This Coming!

According to Bloomberg News, Chinese airlines have been told not to accept any more Boeing aircraft deliveries after the United States imposed 145% tariffs on Chinese exports. 

Boeing's pre-market share price was down 3.72% just before 7 a.m. EST.  

"Top U.S. exporter" is how the aerospace corporation describes itself, and it serves "clients in more than 150 countries."

Nine Chinese carriers have acquired eighteen Boeing aircraft so far this year. Air China, China Eastern carriers, and China Southern Airlines, the country's top three carriers, plan to get 45, 53, and 81 Boeing aircraft, respectively, according to Reuters. between 2025 and 2027. 

According to Reuters, Boeing views China, where rival Airbus has a strong market share, as a place for expansion. 

Beijing has also asked Chinese carriers to cease purchasing aircraft-related parts and equipment from American companies, which is expected to raise maintenance costs, according to the Bloomberg piece.for the planes operating within the nation. However, according to Bloomberg News, the Chinese government is looking into methods to help airlines who lease Boeing aircraft and are dealing with increased expenses.

President Donald Trump's trade policies have led to a tariff war between the United States and China. Although no agreement has been struck yet, Trump implied that a deal with Beijing might be imminent when he stated on Friday that he was okay with the tariffs on China.

In response to U.S. tariffs, China increased import duties to 125% last week.

A 125% duty would make Boeing aircraft headed for Chinese carriers far more expensive, putting a strain on the economy and maybe forcing airlines to look at domestic competitors COMAC and Airbus.

A request for comment from FOX Business was not immediately answered by Boeing.
